at the County Fair. Whether it's the animals, foods, needlework,
art or any of the other exhibits, each plays a role in our heritage.
The Grant County Fair Board invites you to be a part of "Pride
In Our Past, Faith In Our Future Days,
2007" by entering your finest
work for judging and/or display.
Details and highlights can be found in brochures found at local
businesses and in the fair exhibitor handbook found in the July
18th issue of the Blue Mountain Eagle.
Don't miss the highlights of the fair. Besides viewing the 4-H,
FFA and open class exhibits. Check the schedule closely for the
performance times for Bootleg, a
Boot’Scootin
Boogie & Blues Band, and be sure to see Cowgirl
Tricks.
The Antique Road Show will be featured on Thursday, August 23,
from 12:00 PM - 7:00 . Bring your antiques
and find out if you are the owner of trash or treasure!
Look for other contests such as the Hermiston
Watermelon Seed Spitting contest,
Horse Racing,
and Horseshoe
Pitching. And kids, be sure and sign up
for the Mutt Strut, sponsored by KJDY. Bring your dog and
join in the fun!
This year King's of John Day is sponsoring a Champion Pie Baker
Contest. Dairy Farmer's of Oregon is also sponsoring "Summer
Challenge Recipe Contest" as well as "Bob's
Best Home Baked Bread Contest sponsored by Bob's Red Mill. Ball & Kerr
Fresh Preserving Products is sponsoring an adult and junior
level for canning enthusiasts. Be sure to enter! Download

The carnival will operate Wednesday afternoon through Saturday
night with presale wristband bargains for $12.00. Round out the
week with 2 NPRA professional rodeos and the ever popular kids
rodeo. There's food and merchandise for all and lots of places
to sit and visit so come on out and celebrate our Grant County
Heritage.
