Gene and Bobbie Officer were born and
raised in Grant County. Gene Started attending the Grant
Count Fair the year he was born and hasn't missed one since!
Their lives and their children's lives, have revolved around
4-H and family ranching. Gene and Bobbie were livestock leaders
from 1967-1987 and Bobbie was also a sewing leader during that same
time and continued on for another five years.
When the family ranch sold in 1986, they moved to John Day where
Bobbie owned a fabric shop for ten years and Gene managed the Grant
County Fair for five years, earning a silver medal the first year
and gold medals the remaining four years. Bobbie has also volunteered
as a booth superintendent.
Gene and Bobbie are proud to serve as your Grand Marshals this
year. They continue to promote the community and have
a warm spot in their hearts for the 4-H program as their four children,
Amy, Delley, Bob and Scott participated in 4-H and did well.
Gene and Bobbie continue to be blessed as they now have eight grandchildren
and are expecting twin great grandchildren in the near future.
